Web Redesign
Plan
- Update the format of the web
site - add some colour, and dynamic effects
- Get some input from the
children
- Banners (Ashill School
text), logos, pictures of the teachers
- Content for the page on
each class - along the lines of the book produced for new reception
children
- Review and update existing
content - need to assign parts of the web page to individuals. I can
collate and format the text, but some of the content needs to come from School
- Make the update mechanism as
easy as possible. I think I will be able to write a program to allow the
news section to be kept up to date without anyone needing to understand how to
edit web pages (though you are welcome to learn if you like) This should apply
to the following parts of the web page...
- Stop Press (new item) -
last minute news
- Newsletters
- Diary
Dates.
- Get some extra content - I
have designed some layouts for web pages, that can either be filled out
electronically (Word or PowerPoint format) or can be printed out and drawn in
(you can write the name of a photo in the picture boxes and supply the image
on disk) We especially need to get content in the following areas:
- Childrens work
- Extra curriucular
activities
- Community links (e.g.
garden)
Web Update Schedule
- Newsletters - As they are produced (normally at the start of the
term)
- Diary Dates - Termly at the start of term
- Stop Press - Ad hoc - hopefully this will be easy enough to do
immediately as necessary
- Learning resources e.g. links to web pages or even school work sheets -
Termly at the start of term
- Childrens work - Termly at the end of term
- Ashill Gazette - End of Summer Term
- Ashill Gazette back issues -
woulb be nice to get these on the web site over
time
